Crystal Palace Hotel

Crystal Palace Hotel is situated near Marine Drive on Banerji Road. We are also close to Shanmughom Road, with the pin code 682031. It’s a good location if you like being near the water, though the humidity from the sea can be quite something. You can feel the salt in the air most mornings. The hotel itself is just a regular building. We have rooms and we have people staying in them. It’s not complicated. We spend a lot of time cleaning and making sure the linens are fresh. The staff here is small. We’ve worked together for a while, so we know who is doing what. Banerji Road can get quite noisy with the buses and cars, but that’s just city life. We see people from all over, some staying for a night, others for longer. We don't have a big lobby with marble floors or anything like that. It’s just a place to sleep and keep your bags. Sometimes the elevators are a bit slow, but they get you where you need to go. We keep a pot of tea going in the back for ourselves. The area around Marine Drive is nice for a walk in the evening when it cools down a bit. We’re just here doing our jobs and making sure the guests have a key to their room. It’s straightforward work that fills up our days from morning until the late night shift.
