P. R. Government College A Kakinada

This is the chemistry department at P. R. Government College in Kakinada. We are located right where Prof Rama Rao used to be so people usually know where to find us. Kakinada can get incredibly hot during the summer months and the lab rooms definitely feel it. We have several long tables with all the glass beakers and test tubes lined up for the students. It smells like chemicals and old paper in here most of the time which is something you just get used to. I spend a lot of my day checking the inventory and making sure we have enough supplies for the next round of practicals. The college building itself is quite old and has that solid feel to it. Students come from all over the Andhra Pradesh area to study here so the hallways are always full of people rushing to their next lecture. We have a lot of paperwork to manage and the registers are always piled up on the desks. It is a busy place but we try to keep things orderly. The department is a bit crowded but we make do with the space we have. Usually we are just focused on getting through the syllabus and making sure the experiments go right. It is a very practical environment without any of the fancy decorations you might see in newer colleges. We just work with what we have and keep the department going every day.
