Gurukul Institute Of Technology

Down here in Vallabh Nagar, specifically at B-97, we’ve got Gurukul Institute Of Technology set up in a fairly busy part of Kota. If you know this area, you know how it is with students everywhere and piles of books in every shop window. Our building is just a standard house that’s been converted a bit to fit some classrooms and a small office area. It’s got that Kota feel where everything is about the next exam, but we try to keep things a bit more relaxed than the huge centers. There’s a small courtyard area where students stand around and talk during their breaks, usually complaining about how hard the physics problems are. The walls are painted a light color that’s faded a bit over the years. We have some computers set up in the back room, though they aren't the newest models you can find. They do the job for what’s needed. Rajasthan gets incredibly hot, so the coolers are always running at full blast, making a lot of hum in the background. We have a lot of tea and sometimes share some snacks if someone brings them from home. It’s a local place through and through. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just us helping people figure out technical stuff in a way that makes sense. The gate at the front squeaks when you open it, which lets us know someone’s arrived. We just keep our heads down and work.
