Our office at B-102, Swashya Vihar is tucked away in a spot that’s easy to miss if you aren't looking for the sign. Amie Ltd. is a small operation, and we like it that way because it keeps things simple. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the main road is blocked. The desks are pushed close together, and there’s always a stack of files that someone needs to go through. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door just gets up and answers it. The light in the back room flickers sometimes, but we’ve learned to ignore it until someone remembers to buy a new bulb. We spend a lot of time on the phones or typing away at old computers that take a minute to start up in the morning. Lunch is usually a group affair where we clear off a table and share whatever people brought from home. It’s not the kind of place you’d see in a magazine, but it’s where we do our work every day. We handle the paperwork and the logistics without making a big fuss about it. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we all complain for a bit, then get back to it. It’s a practical setup that serves us well enough for what we need to do.
