Kamals Sweets & Restaurant is tucked away in Madhu Vihar, Patparganj, right near the Gurudwara. If you live around here, you’ve probably walked past us a dozen times. We aren't one of those big chain restaurants with a hundred branches; we are just here in Delhi doing what we know. The shop is split between the sweets counter and the seating area where people sit down for a meal. It gets quite busy in the evenings when people are heading home and want to pick up something sweet for the family. In the mornings, we are busy getting the day's batches of sweets ready and prepping the kitchen for lunch. The smell of frying snacks and boiling milk is just part of the background here. It’s a bit noisy, and the decor is simple because we care more about the kitchen than the paint on the walls. We have our regulars who come in every day for their tea or a quick bite, and we like that familiar feeling. Dealing with food in a place like Patparganj means you have to be ready for anything, from a quiet Tuesday to a chaotic holiday weekend. We just keep things running as best as we can. There’s no big secret to it, just a lot of hours and making sure the food is what people expect. It’s a local spot for local people. We keep the counter stocked and the tables clean as much as possible.
