Our office is at A/27 Cross Street-6 in Smriti Nagar, Bhilai. We are located in the Durg district, and it’s a place that really knows its steel. This branch for Steel Authority Of India Ltd is tucked away in a spot that feels very much like a part of the community. The office itself is not very large, but we make the most of the space we have. There are desks everywhere and the walls are lined with charts and calendars. It gets very hot here in the summer, so we spend a lot of time making sure the coolers are working properly. We aren't here to give you a big sales pitch or act like we are in a fancy movie. We are just local employees who show up and handle the paperwork and the people who come by with questions. Most of the folks working here have lived in Bhilai their whole lives. We know the streets and we know the families around here. It’s a very grounded atmosphere where we just focus on the tasks at hand. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when there’s a deadline, but we usually manage to pull through by helping each other out. We don’t have any polished corporate speeches ready; we just tell it like it is and keep the office running as best as we can every day.
