Bhilai Steel Plant, Sail

Our place is in Sector 04, specifically at Quarter 5/B on Street 29. If you know Bhilai Nagar, you know these sectors are laid out in a very specific way. Being part of the Bhilai Steel Plant under SAIL means our lives revolve around the blast furnaces and the rolling mills. It is a massive operation, and we are just a small part of it here in Durg. The air smells like metal most days, and you can hear the faint hum of the plant if the wind is right. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us working through the piles of paperwork and the technical requirements that come with steel production. It is a bit of a maze in these streets, but we have been here long enough that we could find our way in the dark. The house is where we rest after those long shifts. People in Chhattisgarh know that SAIL is more than just a company; it is the reason this whole area exists. We focus on the daily tasks, checking the quality of the iron or making sure the logistics are moving. It gets really hot in the summer, but the work doesn't stop. We just keep the gears turning. It is honest work, and we take it one day at a time without any fuss. There is always something to do with the metal.
