If you go down toward the bus stand in Balod, you'll find us right there. Being so close to the station means there is always noise from the buses and people coming and going. It’s a handy spot though, especially for the kids who have to travel in from the smaller villages around Durg. They just hop off the bus and walk over. The school building itself is pretty plain. We have the usual classrooms and a small space for the kids to stand around during the morning assembly. It’s not a quiet area, that’s for sure. You can hear the conductors shouting and the horns honking all day long while we are trying to teach history or grammar. We’ve gotten used to it over the years. The students don't seem to mind much. We have a few benches outside where they sit and eat their tiffins. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into the hallways, so we spend a lot of time sweeping up. It’s just a normal school for regular families in the Balod area. We don't have fancy equipment or a big stadium. We just have teachers, books, and students trying to get through the syllabus. It's practical and it serves the community here. Most of us have lived in Durg our whole lives, so we know most of the parents who stop by to check on things. It's a busy life but we make it work every day.
