Delhi Public School, Durg

The school is located on Junwani Road in the Nehru Nagar area of Bhilai. It’s a big place where things never really stay quiet for long. Delhi Public School, Durg has been part of this community for quite a while now. From early in the morning when the yellow buses start rolling in until the afternoon when the last bell rings, it’s a constant rush. We spend our time managing classrooms, making sure the grounds are kept up, and handling all the small crises that happen when you have hundreds of kids in one place. The staff room is usually a mess of notebooks and coffee mugs. We don't have a lot of fancy words for what we do here; we just try to keep the kids learning and the building from falling apart. The weather in Bhilai can be tough, so keeping the fans running and the water coolers filled is a big part of the daily routine. People like J. Britto and L. Felix are usually around making sure the paperwork for the admissions and the government stuff is handled correctly. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one day at a time. The sound of the playground is something you get used to after a week of working here. It’s just a school, doing what schools do, trying to keep things organized in the middle of all that energy.
