Bhilai Steel Plant

If you are looking for us, you’ll find us over at Ispat Bhavan. We are tucked away in Room No. 538. It’s a big building, and sometimes people get lost trying to find the right floor or the correct corridor. The Bhilai Steel Plant is a huge place, so we spend a lot of time just moving between different sections of the facility. Our office is pretty basic. Just some metal desks, old files, and a lot of tea being made in the corner. It gets really busy during the shift changes when everyone is moving around. You can hear the hum of the plant from the windows, even up here on the fifth floor. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time now. Everyone in town knows someone who works here. It’s a bit of a maze inside the main gates, but once you get to Ispat Bhavan, it’s a bit easier to navigate. We handle a lot of the day-to-day paperwork that keeps things moving behind the scenes. It's not glamorous work, mostly just checking numbers and talking to the different departments on the phone. Sometimes the lifts are slow, so we just take the stairs to save time. The view from the higher floors shows just how much ground the plant covers. It’s impressive, even after you’ve seen it a thousand times. We just keep things simple in our little corner.
