We are located in Agni Pathar, which is a small area in Timona, Lahowal. This is right in the Dibrugarh district, so you can guess that we are all about tea. Soumar Tea Producer Company Limited is a group of small tea growers who decided to join forces. In a place like Dibrugarh, you are surrounded by massive tea estates that have been there for a hundred years. For small guys like us, it can be hard to survive on our own. We spend our days out in the gardens, making sure the tea bushes are healthy and the leaves are picked just right. It is a lot of manual labor and your back usually aches by the end of the day. Our office is just a plain building in Agni Pathar. We do not have any corporate stuff or glossy advertisements. We just focus on the quality of the leaf we produce. The weather in Assam is perfect for tea, but it can be really hard on the people working in it. Whether it is burning hot or pouring rain, the work does not stop. We are just local people trying to make a living from the ground we were born on. We do not have any big promises to make to anyone. We just keep our heads down and keep working the tea. It is what we know and what we do.
