Shri Laxmi Savji Hotel

Our hotel is over in the Kelkeri Complex in the Gandhinagar area of Dharwad. The pin code is 580004. We call it Shri Laxmi Savji Hotel, and we focus on the kind of food people around here really like. It’s a local spot, nothing like the big places you see in the bigger cities. Gandhinagar is a nice enough neighborhood, and being in the complex means we have other shops around us too. We open up in the morning and start prepping the spices and the meat for the day. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen, but that’s just part of the job. Most of our customers are people who live nearby or work in the local shops. They come in for a heavy lunch and then go back to their day. We don’t have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a clock that’s a few minutes fast. The tables are simple and we use heavy plates that don’t break easily. It’s a bit of a noisy place when the lunch rush hits, with everyone talking and the sound of pots and pans in the back. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place where you can get a good meal without paying too much. My family helps out with the serving and the cleaning, so it’s a real local operation. We just keep cooking until the food runs out.
