Indian Institute Of Information Technology

Our setup is on the 3rd floor of the IT Park, right opposite the Glass House. It’s a modern enough building, but once you get inside the Indian Institute Of Information Technology, it’s mostly just rows of computers and people drinking tea. Being on the third floor means we spend a lot of time waiting for the elevator, or just taking the stairs if we’re in a hurry. The view of the Glass House is okay, but most of us are too busy looking at code or documents to notice it much. It’s an academic environment, but it feels more like a workplace. There’s always a hum of servers and cooling fans in the background. We don't have a marketing department writing fancy stories about us. We’re just an institute focused on tech stuff. The hallways are usually quiet until a class lets out, then it gets a bit chaotic for ten minutes. It’s a practical place with a lot of whiteboard markers that are running out of ink and stacks of paper on every desk. We deal with the usual IT park issues like the occasional power flicker or the internet being slow. We aren't trying to sell anything. We just provide a space for students and staff to get their work done in this part of town. It’s a straightforward existence in a busy commercial area.
