Tamil Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our place is located in Periyapoolapatti, which is a quiet little village over in the Palacode area of Dharmapuri. We are known as Tamil Farmer Producer Company Limited, but around here, people just know us as the local group working out of 1/71 Periyampatti. It is a very rural spot and we like it that way. The main thing we do is bring together the farmers from around our village so we can actually get things done. In a place like Dharmapuri, farming is what everyone knows. We deal with the ups and downs of the rain and the market prices every single day. Some weeks are really stressful when the crops are ready and we have to move fast. Other times, it’s just quiet meetings on the porch talking about seeds or fertilizers. We don’t have a fancy marketing team. It’s just us, sitting around and figuring out how to help each other survive the season. The office is simple, nothing more than a room with some chairs and a desk where we keep our papers. We’ve all spent our lives in these fields, so we know how hard the work is. It’s about making sure the people who actually grow the food get a fair shake. We just try to stay grounded and keep the focus on the dirt under our fingernails and the crops in the ground. It is just basic work done by people who live here.
