You can find us over at Sf No194/2 in Thippirettihalli. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here but we like the quiet. Being near Hogenakkal, we have some decent access to water when the river is up, but farming is still a gamble every single year. We are a collective, which just means we are a bunch of neighbors who decided to stop working in silos. Thippirettihalli is a small place and everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway. Our office is just a simple building where we store some supplies and keep our records. We don't have a receptionist or fancy furniture. Usually, there’s just a couple of us there leaning against the wall talking about the pests or the price of fertilizer. Farming around here takes a lot of grit. The ground can be stubborn and the heat gets pretty intense during the summer months. But when the crops come in, it’s a good feeling. We don't do much advertising because people know where we are. If you need us, you just come to the village and ask around. We deal with all sorts of local produce. It’s all grown right here in these fields. We are just trying to keep our farms going so we don't have to move to the city for work. It’s a humble way to live but it’s ours. We don’t expect things to be easy, we just expect to work hard every day.
