Here in Papparapatti, things move at their own pace. Subramaniya Siva Collective Farming Farmer Producer Company Limited is basically a group of local farmers from around Pennagaram who decided to get together. We are located over at No. 395/1 in Abu Mudhali Coloni. It is not like some big city office with people in suits. Most of the time, we are just out in the fields or sitting around a wooden table talking about the crops and the rain. Farming is tough when you try to do it all by yourself, so we figured working as a collective made more sense for everyone involved. We deal with whatever the season brings us, whether it is a good harvest or a dry spell that makes things difficult. Our address is easy to find if you are in the area. We spend a lot of time discussing things like seed prices and where to sell the produce so nobody gets a bad deal. It is a very practical way of living. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just want to make sure the farming families around here can keep going. It is just us, the soil, and a lot of hard work every day. Sometimes we argue about how to do things, but that’s just how it goes when everyone has their own way of farming. We just keep at it and hope for the best.
