Sound Art

Sound Art is over in United Plaza, right on the main road in Karkardooma. It’s a busy building with a lot of different offices, so there’s always people coming and going. We are on the first floor at F 108. You can usually hear us before you see us because we are often checking speakers or testing out some new audio gear. The Community Centre is right nearby, so the whole area stays pretty active until late at night. The office is a bit of a mess with cables and microphones everywhere, but we know where everything is. It’s not one of those polished showrooms you see in magazines. It’s more of a workshop vibe. We have some old posters on the walls and a dusty sofa for when we need a break. Most of the day is spent on the phone or fixing something that stopped working. The traffic on the Karkardooma main road is quite something, especially in the evenings. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit of time. If you’re coming from the Metro, it’s a short rickshaw ride. We keep things pretty simple here. It’s just a group of us who like sound and music. We don’t really have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there to help you out eventually. It's just a regular local business doing its thing every day.
