Room No 111 is our home base. It’s in F-155, right in the Main Market of Laxmi Nagar. If you’ve ever been to Laxmi Nagar in New Delhi, you know how crowded and loud it gets. It’s full of energy. Showtime Events (India) Pvt Ltd is right in the thick of it. The office is tucked inside a larger building and it’s a bit of a walk to find the room. It’s not a huge space. We have things stacked up because event work means a lot of gear and folders. The desks are close together. You can hear the market vendors shouting outside even from the first floor. It’s a 92 pin code area. We are always on the phone or typing away. The hallway outside is usually busy with people going to other offices. We have a small window that looks out onto the street. It’s great for people-watching when you need a break. The ceiling fan hums all day long. It gets a bit hot in the summer but we have a small cooler. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. People just knock and walk in. It’s a very busy, honest kind of workplace. We are just a group of people trying to make things happen from a small room in a big market. It is a long day usually but we get through it together.
