Santosh Traders

Santosh Traders is right here in Shahdara, specifically at Building No A/88, Gali No 5 in New Modern Shahdara. It’s a typical neighborhood trading business. We deal with whatever stock comes in that week. The building is an older one and the stairs are a bit narrow, so moving boxes up and down is always a bit of a workout. Gali No 5 is usually busy with motorcycles and people walking to the main market. We keep the front of the shop open so we can see who’s coming. Most of our days are spent checking inventory and talking to customers on the phone. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. There’s always a glass of tea on the desk and some newspapers from two days ago. We don’t have a website or any fancy marketing. People find out about us through word of mouth or just by walking past the building. The walls are painted a simple blue and we have shelves stacked high with goods. Sometimes the delivery truck can't get into the narrow lane, so we have to use handcarts to bring the stuff in. It’s a bit of a struggle, but that’s how it works in this part of Shahdara. We’ve lived and worked in this area for a long time, so we know all the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a tight community and we just do our part every day to keep things moving along.
