KLM Design India is tucked away in Punchsheel Vihar, specifically at A-31 in the Khirki area of New Delhi. If you’ve ever walked through these streets, you know they can be a bit of a maze, but we like it here. It’s a real New Delhi vibe, not too polished but very active. Inside the office, it is mostly about the design work. We spend our mornings going over project requirements and the afternoons trying to get the details right on our screens. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere and the sound of keyboards clicking. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city; we just want to do our jobs well and make sure the designs we put out are solid. Khirki is an interesting place to be because there is so much happening all around us. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets noisy, but we just work through it. Our team is small, and we don’t spend much time on fancy presentations. We’d rather just show the work we’ve done. We keep things pretty straightforward here at A-31. No big speeches or corporate talk, just design. It’s been our home for a while now and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of this neighborhood. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do every day. There is no need for anything more complicated than that.
