Kanchan Manufacturing Co.

I spend most of my time here at 29/6 on Bijwasan Varthal Road. It’s a busy spot in Bijwasan. Every morning starts about the same way. I unlock the shutters and let some air in before the machines get going. We’ve been here at Kanchan Manufacturing Co. for a while now. The road outside can get pretty backed up with trucks, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Inside the shop, it’s mostly the sound of metal and people moving stuff around. We make different things here, depending on what the orders are for the week. It isn't a fancy setup. There’s a desk in the corner where I keep the paperwork, though it usually ends up buried under some parts or tools. Sometimes the electricity acts up, so we have to adjust our schedule. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s just us working through the piles of material we get delivered. We try to keep things organized, but when you are in the middle of a big manufacturing run, things get a bit messy. The floor gets covered in shavings and we just sweep it up at the end of the day. People drop by from the neighborhood to chat or ask about a job. It’s a plain place, but we get the work done. The heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, so we usually take a longer break then.
