If you’ve ever walked down Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh, you know how packed it gets. We are at 28/1537, which is a bit of a squeeze when the delivery carts are coming through. This is Singhal Trading Co. We spend most of our time dealing with stock and talking to people who come into the shop. It’s not a quiet place at all. You can hear the tea stalls and the scooters honking all day long. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and the walls are a bit dusty, but we like it here. It’s where all the action is. Most mornings we start by checking what came in and what needs to go out. Trading is mostly about keeping track of the numbers and making sure people get what they asked for. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us doing the daily chores and managing the inventory. Sometimes the lights flicker and the street gets flooded if it rains too hard, but we just keep the doors open. People know us as the local guys who stay busy. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a trading business in a very busy part of Delhi. We focus on the work and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad in the evening.
