Jade Magazine, Future Media Group

We’re located up on the first floor at 3A/93 in Karol Bagh. If you know the WEA area, you know how busy it gets with all the markets and shoppers. It’s a high-energy part of New Delhi. We work on Jade Magazine here. It’s not a huge fancy studio like you see on TV, just a regular office with people typing away and talking about layouts. The building is older, but it has some character. We’ve got stacks of old issues piled up in the corners because we never seem to have enough storage space. It gets pretty hectic when we’re close to a deadline, with everyone drinking way too much chai and rushing around to finish their pages. We don't really do the whole corporate hierarchy thing; we just all pitch in where it's needed most. Karol Bagh is a great place to be because there’s always something interesting happening right outside the window. Sometimes the traffic is a nightmare, but that’s just Delhi for you. We just try to put out something decent every month. We’re a small group, and most of us have been together for a long time. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but it feels like home to us. We don't have a glossy brochure about ourselves because we're usually busy making the magazine itself. Just a bunch of people in a room in Karol Bagh doing what they know how to do best. It’s a real job with real deadlines.
