Event Photographer

I run my photography thing out of Bs-46C in Shalimar Bagh. It’s a residential area in North Delhi, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. Being an Event Photographer means I’m usually out of the house more than I’m in it, but this is where I keep all my gear and do my editing. The room is usually dark because I need to see the colors on my screen properly. There are camera bags and tripods leaning against almost every wall. Shalimar Bagh is a nice place with plenty of parks, which is great because I often use them for quick outdoor shots if someone doesn't want to go too far. My desk is a bit of a mess with hard drives and memory cards scattered around. I spend hours sitting here after a wedding or a party, just going through thousands of photos. It’s tiring work and my eyes usually hurt by the end of the day. I don't have a big studio or a receptionist. If the phone rings, I’m the one who picks it up. People in the neighborhood know me as the guy who’s always carrying a heavy bag. I’ve lived in Delhi -88 for quite a while now. The work is seasonal, so some months I’m barely home and other months I’m just waiting for the phone to ring. It’s not a fancy corporate life, just me and my cameras trying to capture things as they happen.
