DCA architects

We are over in Paschim Vihar at G-71 in Pushkar Enclave. It’s a decent spot in New Delhi, and we’ve been working out of this space for quite a while now. DCA architects isn't a massive corporation with floors of people; it’s just us working on various design tasks every day. The desks are usually covered in scales, pencils, and half-empty coffee mugs. We get a lot of local walk-ins because people in the enclave see our sign and want to know about their own house renovations. It’s a busy part of town, so there’s always something happening outside the window. We don't use much jargon when we talk to clients. If a wall needs to be thicker for support, we just say it clearly. We spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers trying to figure out why the tiles haven't arrived at the site yet. That’s a big part of the job that nobody tells you in school. Dealing with the intense heat in Delhi also means we have to think about how to keep buildings cool for the residents. We aren't trying to win awards every day; we just want to make sure the stairs aren't too steep and the rooms have enough light. It is practical work. Sometimes the printer jams when we have a deadline, and we all have to huddle around it to fix it. It is just a normal office where we do our best with the projects we get.
