Community Services Trust

Our small office is tucked away at E-22/162 in Zakir Nagar. If you know Okhla in New Delhi, you know how busy and packed the streets can get around here. Community Services Trust has been operating from this little spot for a while now. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning or glass doors, just a plain room where we sit and talk to people who come by. Zakir Nagar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. We try to help out with whatever local issues people bring to us. Sometimes it is about paperwork, other times it is just giving advice on where to go for health stuff. It is slow work and sometimes frustrating because things don't always move fast in Delhi. We don't have a lot of staff, mostly just a couple of us who live nearby and care about the area. The lanes around E-22 are narrow, so we usually walk everywhere. People in Okhla know where to find us if they need something. We don't do any big marketing or post flyers everywhere. Most people just hear about the trust from their neighbors. It is a quiet life here, even with all the noise outside. We keep our records in old registers and try to keep track of everyone. It’s just how things are done here in our part of the city. We stay here every single day because there is work.
