Cmac - Centre For Media And Alternative Communication

This is Cmac, or the Centre for Media and Alternative Communication. We operate out of House No. 3, which is part of the Okhla Telephone Exchange Staff Quarters. If you are familiar with the area, we are right across from New Friends Colony in Okhla. It is a bit of a specific spot to find if you aren't looking for it. The staff quarters have a certain look to them, and we have been settled in here for quite some time. It’s not like those big glass buildings you see in other parts of Delhi. It is more of a practical space. We share the neighborhood with people who have lived here for years. You can see the telephone exchange from here, and the traffic on the main road is almost always humming along. Being in House No. 3 means we have our own little corner to work from. It gets a little dusty sometimes because of the construction nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We keep the place tidy enough. People usually just drop by if they know we are here. It’s a very grounded environment, nothing flashy at all. We just focus on our daily tasks and try to keep things moving. Most days are pretty routine. We like being in this part of Okhla because it feels connected to the rest of the city without being right in the middle of a mall. It is a simple, no-nonsense setup for our media activities.
