Ashok Band

You can find Ashok Band over in the NIT area of Faridabad. We are at Shop No.-5J/48 on KC Road. This part of town is actually known as the Band Market, so we have plenty of neighbors doing similar work. We are right near the old KC Cinema, which most locals use as a landmark. Our business is pretty simple, we provide music and a band for processions and celebrations. It’s been our life for a long time. The shop itself is mostly where we keep the uniforms and the instruments like trumpets and drums. It gets really loud and hectic during the peak months when everyone is getting married. We spend a lot of time practicing or just sitting outside the shop talking to other band owners. The NIT area has a lot of history and we feel like a small part of it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just walk into the market and talk to us directly. We show them what we do and talk about the dates. It’s an honest living. The instruments need a lot of cleaning and polishing to stay looking good. We take care of that ourselves right here on KC Road. It’s a busy street but we like the energy. The sound of other bands practicing next door is something you just get used to when you are on KC Road. It’s a unique part of Faridabad. We share stories with the other shop owners while we wait for customers. Most of the time, we are just sitting on our stools out front.
