If you go down to Modinagar in New Delhi and look for House No-27, you’ll find where we do our dance rehearsals. We are right near Abhishek Fashion House, which is a pretty well-known spot in the neighborhood. As Aryan Wedding Choreographer, our main job is teaching people who have two left feet how to dance for their family weddings. It’s a lot of work, especially when you have a whole group of relatives who can’t agree on a song. The space we have isn't a professional dance studio with mirrors on every wall and specialized flooring. It’s more of a local setup where we clear the furniture and get to work. New Delhi can be a busy place, and getting everyone to show up for practice at the same time is usually the hardest part of the job. We spend a lot of time playing the same thirty seconds of a Bollywood song over and over until the steps look right. We aren't a big corporate agency. It’s just us working with local families who want their sangeet to look decent. Sometimes the kids learn fast, but the older folks take a bit more patience and a lot of breaks for tea. Being near the fashion house helps because people are already in the mood for wedding planning when they come by. It’s a tiring job, especially during the peak months, but it’s what we do here in Modinagar.
