Akshay Media is based out of Kalkaji in New Delhi. It’s a pretty standard setup here. We handle media work, which mostly means a lot of screen time and sorting through files. Being in Kalkaji, it's always active outside the door, which is nice if you need a quick tea break. We started this because we liked the work, not because we wanted to change the world or anything. It's a small team of us. We spend most of our mornings catching up on emails and the afternoons trying to finish projects that were supposed to be done yesterday. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist who wears a suit. It’s more of a place where you’ll see some wires on the floor and coffee mugs on every desk. We do what we do and we’ve been doing it for a bit now. Sometimes the internet acts up or the power goes out, but that’s just living in Delhi. We don't try to sound like we’re the biggest thing in the city. We’re just a local media company trying to keep things moving. People know where to find us if they need something done. We don’t go in for those long meetings that go nowhere. We’d rather just get to the work and go home at a decent hour. It's a simple way to run things, but it’s worked for us so far. It gets a bit noisy sometimes with the traffic, but we just turn up the music and keep going.
