Akshat Tent House

Our shop is over at Number 196 A & V in Gurgaon and we are situated right opposite the Dashraha Ground. That ground is a real landmark and it helps people find us without much trouble. When there are big events happening at the ground the whole area gets incredibly loud and busy but we like the energy. We have been in the tent business for a good number of years and have seen Gurgaon turn into a city of skyscrapers from what it used to be. Our shop is still a simple place though. We store our carpets and poles and the waterproof sheets there. It’s a lot of physical work and my back definitely feels it at the end of a long day. We don't have a polished website or a team of sales people. It’s usually just us sitting on the stools out front waiting for the next customer to walk in. We talk to the local people about their kids' birthdays or the community festivals. Sometimes we are out late at night taking down a set after a party is over. It’s not a fancy life but it is an honest one. We know the area well and we know what kind of tents work best for the windy days we get here. People just come by because they know we are always around and we’ve been part of the neighborhood for ages. It feels good to be part of the community.
