The Sky Coaching Center

The Sky Coaching Center is situated on the first floor of the Thalwal Complex in Dhalwala, Rishikesh. We are right by the police chowki, which makes it very easy to give directions to people who are visiting for the first time. Since we are on the first floor, there are a few flights of stairs to climb to get to us. The complex is always bustling with people going to the various shops and offices. Our space has high ceilings and some large windows that look out over the main road. The furniture is very basic, mostly just sturdy chairs and long tables for the students to use. The light in the morning is really nice for reading and writing. I usually get here around eight to roll up the shutters and let some fresh air in. The traffic noise from below can be loud, but it just becomes part of the day after a while. We do not have a big area for waiting, so students usually just go straight into their classrooms. There is a water cooler in the hallway that gets a lot of use. I spend most of my day answering the phone and keeping track of everything in a big handwritten ledger. We do not rely on computers for everything here. It feels a bit more personal to do things by hand. It is a simple, hardworking place in a good part of town.
