Our kitchen is located at 30 Nehru Enclave, tucked away behind the Wadia Institute on GMS Road. It is a quiet spot, which is good because it gets quite loud inside once the stoves are lit. At Daksh Cookery Classes, we do not have a professional industrial kitchen with stainless steel everywhere. It looks more like a regular home kitchen, just a bit bigger with more burners. We spend our days prepping ingredients, chopping vegetables, and teaching people how to make decent meals without overcomplicating things. There is usually flour on the counters and the smell of spices in the air from morning until evening. We do not follow a strict corporate syllabus; we just show people what works and what does not based on what we have learned over the years. It is a messy process, and we go through a lot of aprons and towels. Students come from all over the area, and we usually end up sitting around the table at the end to taste what was made. GMS Road is a good location, and being behind the institute makes it easy for people to find us once they turn into the enclave. We aren't trying to turn everyone into a five-star chef; we just want them to feel comfortable in front of a stove. It is a lot of fun, even when something burns or the dishes pile up. We have been doing this for a while, and the kitchen has become a second home to us.
