Guru Nanak Academy is found on Rajpur Road, specifically at P B No 35. This road is always busy with people and cars, so there’s a lot of movement right outside our gates. The academy itself feels a bit like a world of its own once you actually walk inside the grounds. We have some older buildings that have been around for a long time, and they have that specific smell of old books and wooden desks that you only find in schools. It isn't a place that tries to look like a modern office building or anything too corporate. We have a lot of open space and some nice trees, which is great when the weather is good and the sun is out. The teachers here are mostly focused on their subjects and don't care much for fancy titles or talk. We spend our days making sure the kids have their textbooks and that they are actually following along with the lessons on the board. There is a lot of history in this place, and you can see it in the old photographs hanging in the main hallway. We don't do much in the way of big marketing or advertisements. Most people hear about us from their neighbors or relatives who went here in the past. It’s a steady kind of life, punctuated by the bell every forty-five minutes or so. We deal with the usual problems like leaky roofs in the monsoon or needing new light bulbs, but we just fix things and keep going.
