Shristi Study Circle

You can find us over on Chakrata Road in Dehradun Cantt. We are up on the 3rd floor of the building at number 23. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs every day, but it gets you away from the direct noise of the traffic on Chakrata Road. Being on the third floor gives us a bit of a view, though we are usually too busy with books to look out the window much. The rooms are a bit small but we’ve arranged the desks so everyone has a spot. It’s a simple study circle, not a big institution with hundreds of staff. It’s just a few of us making sure things run smoothly. The floors are concrete and the walls are a light color that’s faded a bit over the years. We have a few cupboards for all the papers and files that tend to accumulate. During the monsoon, you can hear the rain hitting the roof quite loudly, which is actually kind of nice while you’re studying. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a waiting area. People just come up the stairs and go straight to their class. It’s a very functional way of doing things. Most of the people who come here are from the local Dehradun area and they know the building well. It’s a practical place to get some work done without any unnecessary distractions or polished surroundings.
