Pragathi Tourist Corporation

Pragathi Tourist Corporation is based out of Shop No 12 in the Ambedkar Bhavan building. We are located in Kodialbail, which is a fairly central area here in Mangalore. If you are waiting at the PVS bus stop, you can look right across and see us. It’s a very busy spot because of the buses coming and going all day long. The building itself has been around for a while and has that old Mangalore feel to it. Our shop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to pack in everything we need to run the business. There’s usually a bit of dust from the road, so we are always cleaning the glass. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft carpets. It’s just a plain floor, some sturdy chairs, and our work desks. We like being close to the bus stop because it makes it easy for people to find us, even if they aren't from this part of town. The morning starts with opening the shutters and getting the ledger ready. We have a lot of regulars who just pop their head in to say hello. It gets noisy with the conductors shouting and the horns honking, but that’s just life in Kodialbail. We keep things simple here.
