Our office is situated quite close to the DC Office in Mangalore, which is a very central part of the city. Being near the government offices means the area is always full of people and cars, especially during the middle of the day. We focus a lot on Hajj and Umrah travels, so we spend a great deal of time working on specific papers and making sure everything is ready for the groups. It is a responsible kind of work and it keeps us on our toes. The office itself is functional and plain. We have a lot of cupboards where we keep the files for all the different travelers. It is important to keep things in order, even if it feels like we are drowning in paper sometimes. The atmosphere here is usually quite serious because people are planning very important trips. We try to keep things calm and just go through the steps one by one. The heat can get a bit much in the summer months, but we have the fans going all day. Sometimes we have to stay a bit late to finish up the documents, but that is part of the job. We don’t really do much else besides travel work. People come in from all over the district to talk to us. We just sit at our desks and do what needs to be done to get them ready for their journey, checking and rechecking the details every day.
