Sarala Kuteera is the name of the place where we work. It’s on Old Kent Road in the Pandeshwara area of Mangalore. We are Infosys Technologies Ltd and this is our local spot in Karnataka. Mangalore has a different vibe than the bigger cities, and we like it that way. The building is older and has some character to it. It’s not one of those modern skyscrapers you see in pictures. We have our rooms set up for the work we do. It can get quite humid here, but we are used to it. The team is small and we all know each other pretty well. There aren't many formalities around here. We just come in, say hello, and get started on whatever is on the list for that day. Pandeshwara is a central enough location, so it isn't too hard to get to. We’ve had this address for a long time. People sometimes walk right past us because we don't have big flashy lights or anything. We prefer it that way, just doing our thing in a quiet corner of the city. We focus on the tasks at hand and don't spend much time worrying about how the office looks to outsiders. It’s a functional space where we put in our hours and get the job done. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily technical chores.
