We have our office in the Samadan Complex over in Thokottu. It’s on the first floor. Thokottu is a bit away from the main city center, which makes it feel a little different. The complex is a busy place with people coming and going for all sorts of things. Our office is fairly small. We have a couple of desks and some chairs that don't quite match. We didn't spend much on the interior because we just needed a place to sit and work. There are a few plants on the windowsill that we try to remember to water. Most of our day is spent handling paperwork and talking to people who drop by. It’s a simple routine. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat together at one of the desks. The noise from the road downstairs is constant, but you stop noticing it after a week or two. We have a small fan that wobbles a bit when it's on high speed. The walls have some marks where chairs have bumped into them over the years. It’s a lived-in space. We know the neighbors in the building and sometimes we share some snacks if someone brings something special from home. It is a very normal, local kind of business. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to do a decent job and get home in time for dinner. The building itself is a bit older but it’s sturdy enough for us.
