Down in Cuttack, in the Tigiria Nizgarh area, you will find our office. Sri Prasannamani Farmers Producercompany Limited is located right near the post office and the police station in Tigiria. It is a very local setup. We spend our mornings looking over the fields and our afternoons sitting in the office dealing with the administrative side of things. It is a lot of work to keep a producer company running in a place like this. There are always seeds to organize or some new government rule we have to explain to the members. The roads can be a bit rough around here, especially in the monsoon, so getting things in and out is not always easy. We do not try to make it sound like something it isn't. It is just a group of people from the Cuttack district trying to get a better handle on their farming business. We have some chairs and a table where people come to sit and talk about the weather or the pests. It is a real community thing. We don't even have a website with fancy photos. We just have our names on a board and a door that is usually open. Some days are slow and we just drink tea and talk about the old days, but other days everyone is rushing around trying to get things done before the sun goes down. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy.
