Maa Kara Dei Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are located in Kakudi, specifically at Plot No. 694 in Ward No. 07. We use the space at Sulochana Nanda’s place for our meetings and work. It is not a formal office building, just a spot in the neighborhood where we can gather without being in the way. Maa Kara Dei Agro is what we called the company. It is a group of us from around the area who decided that we could do more if we pooled our resources together. Farming out here in this part of the state is not easy at all. You have to deal with the crazy weather and the costs of everything going up every month. We mostly focus on the agricultural side of things. We spend our days out in the fields and our evenings talking about what to do next. It is all very informal. Sometimes we are just sitting on the porch discussing the price of fertilizer or which seeds worked better this year. We do not have a website or any ads. People just know us from around Kakudi. We try to stay organized with our records, but we are more comfortable with a shovel than a pen. The goal is just to keep our farms running and maybe get a better deal when we sell what we grow. It is a collective effort. Everyone chips in where they can. If someone’s crop is failing, we try to see why.
