About Mahima Fly Ash Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Cuttack
Our yard is in Dhanagharapada, over in the Sankatras area. We focus on making fly ash bricks. It’s a bit different from the old clay ones, but it’s what we do. The setup here at Mahima Fly Ash Bricks is pretty simple. We have the mixing area and the press, and then the space where they sit to cure. It takes a lot of water and time. We are out here every morning early to get the mix started. Some days the humidity makes things take longer to dry, which can be a bit of a headache. We aren't some big city company with a marketing department. It is mostly just local folks working here. We use the materials we can get and try to keep the quality steady. People from around the village come to us when they are putting up a new room or a boundary wall. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll likely find us out by the stacks or checking the water levels. It’s hard work, and your hands get grey by the end of the day. But it's good to see a finished pile of bricks ready to go out to a neighbor’s house. We just keep things running as best as we can. It is a quiet life in Sankatras, just making bricks and helping out with local building needs. Sometimes we run out of space to store them, so we have to shuffle things around in the yard.
