We started Jeevika Jagatsinghpur Farmers Producer Company Limited because people around here needed a better way to handle the crops. Pranakrishna Mishra’s place at Mundalops in Raghunathpur is where we keep the office. It isn’t fancy, just a room with some chairs and notebooks. Most of us grew up farming these lands, so we know how hard the work is when the weather doesn't cooperate or the prices drop. We spend our mornings talking to the neighbors about what they are planting this season. Sometimes the rains are late, and everyone gets a bit worried. We try to help by getting seeds together or finding someone to buy the harvest so it doesn't just sit there. There are a lot of small farms in this part of Jagatsinghpur. It makes sense to work together instead of everyone trying to do it on their own. We don't have a big website or a marketing team. It’s just us doing the daily tasks like checking the registers and making sure the supplies get where they need to go. If you walk past the post office in Mundalops, you’ll probably see one of us. We are mostly busy with the field work, but we make time for the paperwork when we have to. It is a slow process to get everything organized, but we are getting there. The shed is usually full of sacks depending on the time of year. We just keep going one day at a time.
