Velavan Processors

Our place is over in Veerapandi, tucked away at 65A near the old Prakash Theatre. If you know Puliankadu Thottam, you've probably seen our sign. We do processing work here, mostly stuff with fabrics. The machines run a lot and it can get quite hot inside the building, especially in the afternoons. It's not a quiet job. We have a small group of people working here in Chinnakarai. Most of us live nearby, so we just walk or bike in. The space is filled with tubs and racks, and there’s always something being moved around. It gets messy with the dyes and the water on the floor. We try to keep it tidy but that’s easier said than done. Sometimes the orders are huge and we stay late to finish up. Other days are slower and we spend time cleaning the equipment. The area around the theater is usually busy, so there's always something going on outside. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. It’s a practical setup, nothing too modern, just the tools and the space we need. We handle whatever comes through the door. It’s hard work, and your hands get stained, but it’s what we do. We don't spend much time in the office; we're usually out on the floor where the real work happens. It’s just a regular day-to-day business. We just keep our heads down and get the job finished.
