Vasantham Food Products

Vasantham Food Products is based at 110/10, Jeeva Nagar. This isn't a shop where you walk in and browse shelves. It’s more of a production space where we make things. There’s usually the sound of machinery or the smell of whatever we’re processing that day. We started small in this neighborhood and just kept at it. The space is a bit cramped because we have to fit the equipment and the supplies all in one area. We spend a lot of time cleaning and checking the ingredients before we start the day's work. The walls have some marks from moving equipment around, and the floor is worn down in the spots where we stand the most. We’ve got a small team from the local area who help with the packing. We load the finished products onto a small van that comes by every morning. It's a lot of repetitive work, sealing bags and putting them into boxes. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, which can be frustrating when we have a lot to do. We don't have a front office or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you just come to the side door and yell over the noise. We do things the way we’ve always done them, focusing on the food and not much else. It’s a simple life here in Jeeva Nagar. We’re just regular people making food products for the local market.
