Sri Vijayalakshmi Modern Rice Mill

We've been over here on Venkitrayagounder Street in Kannampalayam for quite a while now. Sri Vijayalakshmi Modern Rice Mill is where we spend most of our days, right in the Palladam Taluk area. It's a busy spot with all the machinery going. People from around here know the building at number 11 well enough. We handle a lot of grain, moving bags in and out every day. The work is loud and dusty, but that's just how a rice mill is. My father used to say the machines have their own rhythm, and you get used to it after a few years. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It's just a practical space for processing rice. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy, but we keep things moving regardless. We see the same faces coming by, farmers and local traders mostly. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The mill keeps us busy from early morning until late evening. We focus on getting the husking and polishing done right. There's always something to fix or a belt to tighten. You learn a lot about how things work when you're on the floor every day. If you're looking for us, we’re just down the street, usually easy to find by the sound of the equipment. We don't do much advertising, word of mouth is usually enough for folks in Palladam.
