Sri Murugan Oil Mill

The mill is tucked away in Rasapalayam. The exact address is No : 2/37-C. We are under the Arasamplayam Post in the Tiruppur district. It’s a rural area, so things move a bit slower than in the city. You can usually smell the oil before you even see the building. We spend our days around the machinery. It’s loud and it’s hot, but that’s the nature of an oil mill. We handle different kinds of seeds depending on the season. My hands usually have a bit of oil on them by noon. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local people who know how to run the presses. We take the seeds, process them, and fill up the containers. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. That's just part of working in this part of Tiruppur. We don’t have a website or a sales team. People just know where Sri Murugan Oil Mill is. They come by with their own containers sometimes or we send the barrels out on a small truck. The office is just a corner with a table and a ledger book. We write everything down by hand mostly. It’s a straightforward way to run things and it’s worked for us so far in Rasapalayam.
