S.R. Fibre

S.R. Fibre is right on 89 Udumalai Road. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic passing by all day. It’s a bit noisy with the buses and cars honking, but it’s a good spot for people to find us. The building is just a simple shed with a small office area blocked off in the front. We spend most of our time out back where the actual work happens. It’s all about the fiber here. We sort it, we clean it up a bit, and we stack it. It’s repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. We have a couple of old fans that struggle to keep the place cool. Most of us have been working here since the place opened. We don't have any big titles or corporate structure. We just know what needs to be done when we walk in each morning. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic on Udumalai Road, so we just sit on the front step and watch the world go by for a bit. We don’t have any glossy pictures of our work. It’s just raw material and hard work. We don’t make any big claims about being the best. We just do the work the way we were taught and hope it’s enough for the folks who buy from us. It’s just a regular local business trying to get by day to day.
