Shiv Farming

No. 5 in the P.K. Complex is a busy little corner on Katcheri St. You can usually find us there surrounded by bags of supplies and a lot of dust from the road. Shiv Farming is a place where we spend most of our time talking to people from the surrounding villages. It’s not a polished showroom by any means. The shelves are a bit worn out, and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We handle all sorts of things that farmers need, and the inventory changes depending on whether it’s monsoon or the dry season. Some days are slow, and we just sit and talk about the weather or how the crops are doing nearby. Other days, it’s a mad rush with people coming in all at once, and we are scrambling to find the right items in the back. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just a few of us making sure the orders are right and the stock is handled properly. Katcheri St is always noisy with bikes and carts, but inside the complex, we just stick to our work. We know most of our regulars by name, and they know where to find us if they need something specific. It’s a straightforward way of living and working that suits us just fine.
