We are tucked away in Upplipalayam Village, right across from the Coimbatore South area. If you come by No.627/1, you’ll see our place. It’s usually a bit of a scramble in the mornings getting the beverages loaded. The trucks come in early and the noise of the engines is our alarm clock. It’s a dusty spot sometimes, being near the main road, but we keep the inside clean for the food handling. We spend a lot of time looking at labels and checking bottle caps. It’s not glamorous work at all. Most of the staff live nearby, so we all walk or bike in. The afternoon heat can be a bit much, so we take our breaks under the shade near the gate. Scm Food & Beverages has been around this part of Coimbatore for a while. We don't have any big flashy signs or a fancy lobby. It’s just a warehouse and some office space where we track the orders. You can hear the fans humming all day long to keep the air moving. We deal with a lot of different drinks and snacks. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit confusing when a big shipment comes in, but we sort it out eventually. We just focus on getting the crates out on time so the shops in town have what they need. It’s a lot of lifting and counting, but it keeps us busy.
